Notes about the music mix

1. BigFooT (Tim) vs. Tranceadelic (John) - Lose Control
   • From July 2006, still officially considered unfinished. This was the first project which was worked on together, in the days where we used the forums on InternetDJ. The genre of music that we both strove for was Trance, something I don't think we ever achieved.

2. Tim Morriss vs. John Pavlick - Calming Effect
   • First time that I see it mentioned in gmail conversation is November 2006 but I think it dates back earlier, it sounds like it may even date back to early 2006, this was when John wasn't allowed to use bass drums (kicks) because they were considered to be sinful by his mother. The ambiguity of the dating of this track comes from a number of things: we were using our real names, which was something that means we were talking for sometime; although it does sound more rough than the first collaboration but that is completely subjective, we may have been just experimenting with new sounds. This track also was given the official status of unfinished.

3. ASFASOE (A Shout for a Sign of Existence) + Silver Lining - Emit
   • First came about as a remix of one of John's tracks that I did, quickly became a collaboration, this version I emailed him in May of 2008. Note that we are now using new aliases and the gap between the last featured collaboration and this one is quite extensive; this was due, in part, to John leaving school and getting a job but also down to a track which has unfortunately been lost in the ether, and under the name Indietr0n.

4. Heart Shaped Box - You've Been Gone Too Long
   • Note the new name, this was conceived purely as a collaboration and this is the name that John chose for our project. Not sure of the date of this one but I suspect it dates from early 2008.

5. Heart Shaped Box - I Might Have Been Yours
   • This file was taken from an email dated August 2008, at this point we had been heavily influenced by the current trend at the time of emulating an 1980s synth-pop/italo disco style; a style popularised by the french collective of artists, Valerie. Good examples of an archetype of this genre are: College - Teenage Color; Outrunners - Cool Feeling; and Sally Shapiro - I Know.

All music was produced using FL Studio (many versions of it) and our workflow consisted of us sending across the project file and any external samples through email or via file sharing sites (the days before we knew Dropbox existed).
